How to accept ACH payments

From signup to settled order.

Step 01

Create your checkout

Sign up at U.CASH Pay and create a checkout that offers ACH alongside cards and crypto.

Step 02

Enter your bank coordinates

Fill in the account number, routing number, bank name, and account holder buyers should pay.

Step 03

Buyer sends the transfer

The buyer initiates the ACH transfer from their own banking app and includes the unique payment reference shown on the invoice.

Step 04

Confirm and settle

Watch for the arrival in your bank feed, match the reference in Payments, and mark the order paid. Orders hold for 30 days.

Fees and settlement

U.CASH charges nothing on the ACH rail. Senders pay whatever their bank charges for ACH, which at most U.S. institutions is zero. Settlement is not instant: ACH batches clear on banking days, so confirm the arrival in your bank feed before releasing goods.

Speed and settlement behavior

ACH runs as a manual rail: the buyer initiates the transfer against your published coordinates and includes the per-order payment reference, which is what makes the reconciliation one click rather than a hunt. Settlement lands in the rail's own window, which the fees and settlement section states; there is no processor in the middle to wait on. That directness is also the operational trade: the rail sees a plain transfer, so the reference discipline is what keeps reconciliation mechanical.

The crypto alternative on the same checkout

The currencies ACH settles, USD, also exist on-chain where peg families trade: settle the same corridor as a token, non-custodial, final on confirmation, at network fees instead of rail fees. Buyers choose their rail; your ledger sees the same currency either way. The operational difference worth planning around is reversal: the crypto leg settles finally with no dispute window, which suits invoices and known customers, while the traditional rails keep the protections and processes their buyers expect.

ACH: FAQ

How long does an ACH payment take?
Most ACH transfers settle in one to three banking days. Same-day ACH exists but depends on the sending bank. The order holds its payment reference for 30 days, so late arrivals still match.
Can ACH payments be reversed?
ACH returns are possible for a limited window after settlement, which is a property of the network, not of U.CASH. Digital goods and authorized transactions are typical use; high-risk sellers should wait for settlement before releasing.
Do buyers need anything besides my account number?
Yes: the payment reference shown on their invoice. It is what lets you match an incoming transfer to the right order when several land the same day.
Can I offer ACH beside crypto at checkout?
Yes, that is the standard configuration: the rail serves buyers who pay from banking apps, the crypto legs serve wallet holders, and cards cover everyone else. One checkout, one Payments queue, each payment closing with its reference.
What does the buyer need to pay through ACH?
The coordinates your checkout publishes and the per-order reference. No app install, no account creation on any platform.
Who settles disputes and support on ACH payments?
The rail itself behaves like a bank transfer: settlement follows the rail's rules, and there is no chargeback machinery to arbitrate afterward. Your checkout records, with the per-order reference and rail confirmation, are the paper trail for any customer conversation.
